The Cross River State Civil Service Commission has released the list containing the third batch of 500 newly recruited personnel into the state public service, bringing the total number of fresh intakes in the ongoing recruitment exercise closer to 1,500.
In a statement dated 24th November, 2025 and signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Sir Maurice Effiwatt, KSM, JP, the Commission disclosed that the recruitment is being concluded in four batches of 500 persons each, drawn from various cadres and across the 18 local government areas of the state.
“To conclude the ongoing recruitment of eligible persons into the Cross River State Public Service, the Cross River State Ministry of Establishment, Pensions and Training, in conjunction with the Cross River State Civil Service Commission, is undertaking a two-day orientation training for all the newly recruited personnel, in four batches of 500 persons per batch,” the statement read in part.
It further stated that the list of the third batch of 500 successful candidates has been attached to the release for public information, while the specific dates and venue for the mandatory orientation training will be communicated by the Ministry of Establishment, Pensions and Training within the week.
Sir Effiwatt urged all listed candidates to regularly check official government channels and prepare for the forthcoming orientation, describing it as a critical step before full deployment into the various ministries, departments and agencies.
The ongoing recruitment, which commenced earlier in the year, has been widely commended for its transparency and adherence to federal character principles, with names drawn proportionally from the three senatorial districts and the 18 local government areas.
Youth groups and civil society organisations in the state have particularly hailed Governor Bassey Edet Otu for fulfilling his campaign promise of providing employment opportunities for Cross Riverians, especially the teeming youth population.
With the third batch now released, attention has shifted to the fourth and final batch, which is expected to be announced before the end of December 2025.
Successful candidates in the third batch have already begun expressing joy and gratitude on various social media platforms, with many describing the recruitment as “the most credible and merit-based in recent years.”
The Cross River State Government has continued to assure residents that the recruitment process remains free, fair and devoid of any form of inducement or favoritism.
